Prof Dr Nurullah Bulbuller — General & Bariatric Surgeon
Prof Dr Nurullah Bulbuller is a professor of general surgery and bariatric surgeon at NewMe Obesity Clinic in Antalya, Turkey. He has performed bariatric and metabolic surgery since 2007 and is the author of 56 peer-reviewed publications with more than 550 academic citations — one of the most cited records in Turkish bariatric surgery.
Background
Three decades in the operating theatre
Prof Bulbuller graduated in medicine from Ataturk University in 1990 and completed his general surgery training at Firat University Faculty of Medicine in 1998, where he went on to serve as specialist, assistant professor and associate professor. Between 2009 and 2015 he led the general surgery clinic at Antalya Training and Research Hospital, where he also served as chief physician.
He was appointed Professor of General Surgery at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, one of Turkey's leading medical schools, training the next generation of surgeons while maintaining a full surgical practice. He has performed bariatric and metabolic surgery since 2007 across sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, mini gastric bypass and transit bipartition.
